Lakesh was born in India in 1952. Due to his high intelligence he won a scholarship and came to America when he was sixteen. He went to the Massachusettes Institute for technology where he graducated with his doctorate three years later. After that time he worked with Nasa for nearly a year before finally being wisked away by a government contract electronics company. He found himself working in Dulce New Mexico in 1971.
For several years he was enthralled and delighted in the work being conducted in Dulce. Over the years he finally became the oversear for the cerberus project.
His Status was upgraded to MAJIC level. When this happened he was handed a briefing packet after asking to see the other projects that were going on in Dulce. The Air Force General who handed him the packet stood nearby, never leaving the room the entire time as he read it. It was un-nerving for the scientist as the General kept his hand on his weapon the entire time.
After reading the document, he asked the General to Prove it. Lakesh wished that instead the General had shot him dead on the spot. He was taken to see Balam.
Then in 1989 the technology for the Mat-trans is perfected and Lakesh becomes the first human subject to use the technology.
The man harbours a great deal of guilt over the destruction of the world because of the role he played in the Archon Directive. He had been placed in Cryogenic suspension for nearly a century and then was revived to help with the implimentation of the Directive. During that time he dabbled in Genetics in the attempt to breed warriors that would be loyal to him and his cause. He wants to see the barons and the directive overthrown. He was pivotal in Kane and Salvo's birth because of this.
He is on his second set of lungs and has had portions of his body replaced with cybernetic and artifical implants to extend his lifespan. Though he looks ancient, he moves with the energy of a man in his fifties.
The man has a devious mind and is incredibly intelligent. He was the first man to have ever used the Mat Trans units and was part of the team that created the devices. He had always suspected that there was no Archon Directive, only one creature, Balam. The Oz effect as he liked to call it.
He is personally responsible for the exile of every member of the Cerberus redoubt inhabitants.
