Doomstar
This was a fail safe program developed to prevent certain redoubts from falling into enemy hands in the case of war or invasion. But due to the devastating results of the Skydark, it is speculated that less than three thousand combat troops remained after the initial exchange. It was a self destruct device.
The core concept behind the Doomstar program was AI, or Artificial Intelligence. Intelligent software agents, incorporated with human brain, existing in an electronic web matrix. This was known as Wet Wiring.
Research into AI only went so far before the scientists involved decided it was simpler to create bio-interfaces between organic and inorganic synaptic structures.
Due to the nature of the Doomstar project, it could interface directly with the real world.
The weapon was a hologram, TARA, typically of a beautiful nude female (see HAARP file for more information). The hologram had particles of contraterrene, or Anti-matter that were held suspended in a magnetic field, part of the holograms energy form. The hologram is able to project an energy beam of incredibly destructive power. The entire projection is controlled by a tiny drone. That is how the hologram is able to travel away from its home redoubt.
Any threat to the redoubt would activate the DOOMSTAR program. TARA would then hunt down and eliminate the threat, not stopping for anything. Using the powerful energy beam it would destroy without remorse and would never stop.
The only reason that squatters and others were allowed to inhabit several redoubts, most notably redoubt ZULU in Alaska is that they presented no threat to the redoubt itself and never tried to get into the closed off sections.
The artificial intelligence project fell under Project Eurydice.
