Feathered Serpent
During their trek into the Amazon to investigate a redoubt that was mentioned in the Wyeth Codex, Kane, Grant, and Domi are first welcomed by the Amazon Indians but quickly learn that they are to be given over to their god, Kukulkan, the feathered Serpent.
The snake was easily eighty or more feet in length, with the body being twice the thickness of a mans torso. The huge triangular head was the size of a horse. The mottled scales glowed like molten metal in torchlight. It at first appeared as if the snake had feathers growing from its back but it was in reality an adornment.
Like all snakes, the fangs were wicked and curved backwards, to force prey down its throat and making escape all but impossible. However, this mutant had a double row of these dagger like teeth.
It was finally killed when they caused part of the temples support beams to collapse on it. Their weapons seemed to have little or no effect at all.
After the death of their god, the Indians were dumbfounded. Kane, Grant and Domi used the confusion to make their escape back to the redoubt.
