Is there a map of what the deathlands/outlanders world looks like? If not that would be a cool thing to add or post. Like what the US looks like now with the missing areas (ie California is only a small state now, that sort of thing) as a world that two series are built on, each with massive numbers of books for.. that would be a cool thing I think..
Ideas could be the map showing where the gates are and that sort of thing.. and showing important places from the books.
If this doest exist, maybe I can try and make one in how I would guess it looks like? and where as I go through the books, add/update the map with areas of interest and where gates are.

Yeah the maps are really basic, but some of them are really detailed, like some of the gate places are really detailed, I found a rather good map on the net of what the deathlands may look like.. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Wow, where did you find that? I might ask the author if we can add it to the wiki...

Also note that this map is actually called the deathlands and may actually be modeled on what the author believes deathlands to look like

Yeah, looking at another picture (4-Way Cold War), and the fact that it was caused by "an unspecified event", he probably just borrowed the name. Ah well. I've got the map from Book 1; I wish I could scan it so we'd have a non-corrupted copy on the site.

Is that in all the Pilgramages or just certain editions??

Only the first edition, I believe. The one that has Jack Adrian on the cover as the author instead of James Axler.

Why would Northen Quebec be gone, yet most of the islands of the North West Territories/Iqualut would still be there? Sense make not..

Population centers, most likely. Assuming, of course, that it was nukes and not just some major natural disaster, or combination thereof. It's obvious that the damage to west coast USA was earthquakes, but in that case, you'd think that most of Alaska and maybe even parts of NW Canada would be too, since the Ring of Fire extends all the way north. I'd chalk that up to a lack of research/knowledge on the artists' part and call it good.

Nah... then most of the coastal areas would be underwater - especially the Gulf and Chesapeake Bay areas (Maryland/Delaware). Oh, there's a map of the US (not DL) on the archive, here. I'll try to get the foldout from Pilgrimage to Hell scanned this weekend; if I can, I'll send you a copy so you can add the redoubt locations to it. And then I'll see if I can figure out how to add images to the wiki.

There's a print shop not far from where I live, but they're not open weekends. They do open at 8 AM weekdays, so I'll see if I can stop by someday before work.

I stopped by the print shop this morning and got a scan. We might be better off using a political map, or maybe overlaying it on the "new" map - to show where the old state lines and such where, for reference (I've uploaded them here: http://project-phoenix.wi...les/DL%20foldout.zip for the moment). I forgot the DL map was terrain only. Unfortunately, they're PDFs; I tried copying the image into MS Paint, and it ended up really big and slightly grainy. OTOH, a really big map might be useful. Ron and I talked about doing a Google map, which I thought would be a really cool idea. I'd certainly like to see rebout locations marked, as well as major villes. There's a redoubt map in the archives ( http://www.jamesaxler.com...s/dlwsg/redloc.htm), too, as well as a pile of state maps ( http://www.jamesaxler.com.../dlwsg/dlolmaps.htm) with locations marked (badly out of date, but still...). I need to figure out how to add images, so I can pull all that stuff over from the archives - Chris had maps of several redoubts that I would love to include.

A little snip-it of useless information for you... I'n the English edition of PTH the map was not a fold out, it was bound as two pages in the middle of the book! Page 1 was the right side of the Ryan, JB, Krysty pic. Page 2 and 3 was the map and Page 4 was the left hand sid eof the team pic. It was as if they just took the fold out and bound it into the book. You would have to snap the spine of the book to see the map correctly and pull them out to see the team pic!!! Jim

Hi, Im downloading the zip file to check it out, your second two links however say server error when I click on them.. Don't worry we will get a good map created for your wiki this sort of a thing is a hobby of mine.. I may also be able to make it so that when you click on a area on the map, it shows that area as Ive done this before in the online RPG game I had on my website. For example, I turned this: Uploaded with ImageShack.us into this: Uploaded with ImageShack.us In my online game I then created the map above into this: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Note each tiny square? Every one of them had there own individual maps.. for example this one one of the squares was this town if you went there: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Then note the buildings? Each building you could enter entering yet a image of that building etc.. In other words we can make a pretty cool addon for this site Note I create and make all my own graphics using a variety of graphics programs..

Wow, that's amazing. I don't know that we'll need that level of detail (having maps of redoubts would be awesome, but villes? eh), but have at it. As far as the maps on the archives... I don't know why the links don't work; you can get there via the roundabout route by clicking on the Archives link (that goes to the main page), then scroll down to Deathlands Map. Redoubt Location Map (the second link) is just below that. Like I said, there are also tons of maps and diagrams of various redoubts and such there; it would be great if we could include them on the interactive map.

I'll see what I can do Ive learned allot from what if read so far about how the world looks for example I started Bitter fruit today, takes place in england, and all of London or where it used to be is under water, but I'll stick with just the Deathlands.

Ok, heres my idea, the web page would have this at the top:
Then the map below with the dots (click for bigger image)
Then when you hover over a dot, you can click it and in a popup window a map of that redoubt will show,
if theres no map, then just the name of it will show up, do you like this idea?

Looks good to me.
As a side note, have you noticed that Krysty is quite flat chested in the picture?

Hahaha I love it. Except it's "triple stupe". I copied all the non-corrupted maps from the archives yesterday and whipped up a page where they're all displayed, along with info on the location, but I haven't added it yet. I've also been playing around with the idea of adding redoubt information as well - something like Chris had on the archives. Your map gave me an idea - what if we add a brief description (say, a short paragraph - I'm not sure how much would be too much) to the redoubt name when it pops up?

Sure that would not be a problem, basically we can do what we want.. nothing is really undoable as far as coding goes.. I wish my old site was up.. my online RPG would have shown allot of what can be done (I still have the site, its just not on the web lol)
