Anybody seen this film yet? Another post-apocalyptic flick, but THIS is Deathlands! Denzel Washington is great, even carries a panga and uses it with deadly effect. Those familiar with Fallout 3 will also see a game brought to life, but the way this guy deals with the local Baron and his "sec" men as well as various coldhearts will see Ryan Cawdor minus his companions. Check it out.

Yep the previews were looking pretty good until I started seeing the super heavy religious allusion in all of the characters actions. So I am not sure if I will go see it or not being a strict atheist. I sure don't want to fund televangilists like pat robertson posing as my favorite movie theme or music..... like they did in the 80's

Did the mention of "Book" in this thread get your hopes up.

The Book of Eli looks interesting but appears to be riding on the wave that "The Road" created.

I have still to see both so can't past judgment I'm affraid.

I really enjoyed the movie very much and this movie is probably the closest thing your going to see to the Deathlands on film. They nailed the look and the feel for sure. Most Deathlands fans will enjoy

To be honest, I didn't really see many similarities to Deathlands other than the classic western placed post apocalypse aesthetic.

I guess I ment the movie looked like my vision of what Deathlands would look like. The landscape, the armored wags, blown up buildings and crashed jet. I thought the town or "ville" looked great. It had a Baron ( Gary Oldman) and sec men and "coldheart chillers". They traded for goods, had "cannies" I thought it was close not the same. The story is a lot deeper than bad guy wants good guys book. I still think Deathlands fans should check it out
