1 or 2 books actually. No more then that. 1st and second, let's try to include all of the authors, well except for the few authors who only had maybe 1 or 2 unless you want to. But let's not bitch about any of them let's just say which was our fav's from whatever authors you do like.

If you have nothing nice to say then...You know, just don't include them in your post.

I'll have to have a while for my picks as I review them in my head.

I will edit this post as soon as I do.

Click on "The Books" in the main navigation at the top. On that page, scroll down until you see "Browse Books by Author". Select and author and click Go. You will get a list of all of the books by that author that are on this site. (In other words, not a complete bibliography for that author, just the books they have written in the series that this site covers)

Yes I meant to tone down the post but couldn't come up with any other adequate terms. So I figured I'd take my own advice and not say anything at all.

As far as my fav's I just finished 7 more DL as of today in the past week and a half, As I am trying to re-familiarize myself with as many as possible before making my final decision. I can say that a couple of yours are also on my list though.

I don't think you realized that Andy Boot wrote Thunder Road did you?

    Edited: wrong quote from you.

You reviewed it as a 7...

Oh man, I have to narrow it down?! Grin.

I think my favorite so far is this last Wretched Earth by Victor Milan--well written, good social commentary (without detracting from the story) shown in how the characters respond to their world based on their own experiences and different worlds, very good conflict and turnarounds (no easy straight run), all the companions got to fight and be cunning and be their very coolest selves, the dialogue was superb, the rotties were a perfect take on zombies, and rather than descend into just a horror novel focused on the creepy dudes it stayed focused on the Companions and how they dealt with rotties and a ville civil war. I thought the characters were really captured superbly (dialogue, body language, relationship, hang ups, desriptions, how they responded to stuff, etc) and I thought the team of them really showed through, but not at the expense of them as individuals. It was very cool to see the ladies take an equal share of cleverness and battle as the gentlemen this time--and I liked the humor woven in. Mildred's baseball bat fight and Ryan's shovel were perfect.

This topic post is a perfect excuse to go back in and reread the books.

Hands down its Chuck Rogers, then Victor Milan. Both have upped their writing game in the last books.

And Andy Boot did pen Thunder Road.

Best book recently would have to go to Hell Road Warriors. Then Milan's latest book, followed by the last John Helfers DL.

This topic is coming up really useful--my Dad started me into DL and I'm beginning to hunt them down. Just got Hell Road Warriors coming from Ebay, from Maximus' recommendation. Wrote down the ones British Bloke listed, so I can start getting them. This series has become some 'bonding time' with Dad, we talk about the books and work on our own DL style packs. Funny how a series can end up meaning even more that way.

Keep up the favorites coming--I really appreciate the thumbs up referrals, sure I aim to get them all, but this is a great way to start the gathering. Thanks!
