"Farers were a loosely knit but far-flung group of nomads who travelled the Midwestern Deathlands, trading goods, foodstuffs and even themselves to villes" Page 57 Stoneface.
Didn't think they were in a main sequence but just wanted to double-check. Seems like they could be a group the Companions would ally or work with.
Have the Tech-Nomads appeared in any other books apart from Havens Blight?

Yes, the Tech Nomads debuted in the awesome title Vengeance Trail.
And I and my wife are HUGE RUSH fans! Seen them in concert many, many times.

Glad to hear it.
I've seen them at least twice on every UK tour since 1976 and even talked the missus into a late holiday so I could go see them in the US.

Just finished "Stoneface", how many of you guys and gals would like to see Lars Hellstrom make a return? He was a badass.

Stoneface?! Man, that was a long time ago. But I remember it being Mark Ellis's 1st DL book - and a great one at that!
Hellstrom didn't die? One that got away, eh? A comeback? Sure. Why not.

Heh. Funny thing...back during the period when DL hit its lowest possible common denominator around 2003, I think...the former GE editor asked me if I could write another book in the series. I pitched the return of Lars Hellstrom, which he was okay with but I also suggested overhauling the series to some extent in order to lift its IQ into at least the double digits. He didn't like that idea much, so me returning to DL never went further than a couple of conversations.

Its a shame that you and Alan Philipson had to leave GE, you both wrote very good novels. Currently reading Sunspot really enjoying it

Oh, just wait until you get to his Plague Lords duology! You will THEN truly know the next upper level of the Deathlands saga. Even his Apocalypse Unborn is awesome!

I've been wanting to read them for ages but the second one seems impossible to get over here. Tried to download it to my kindle from amazon.com but that doesn't seem to work for any DL novels. It was going to cost me £13 to get it from the US and while I'm a big DL fan I'm also a penny pinching Scotsman!!

I'll be getting to the Plague Lords books eventually myself. I am going though the series reading Alan's books for now, next up would be Labyrinth. Very much enjoying them all.

Funny that you ask. I am publishing a full color, complete guide to DL mutie genitalia with field identification keys. There will also be a CD version so you can view scalie, scabbie, and stickie wedding tackle on your 55-inch flat screen, pop a room temp Mackeson, and laugh your head off.

Jim,
You mean the mutie giant mollusks in that LJ book? Can't think of the title, dammit. Major threat to the future of humankind, 400-pounders, five-feet-across, telepathic, telekinetic, once they get a grip never let go, eat-you-up-and-spit-out-the-bones? Yes, the clammies are prominently featured in two-page spreads.
AP.
