Regarding beat to death topics 3730 7
Started by Ron Miles
So, there is some commentary on another thread about a topic that has been 'beat to death'. But here's the thing: when was it beat to death Ten years ago The simple truth is, there is by definition a dwindling supply of people who have been around for ten years. We ain't gettin' any more of those, unless we grow some new ones and wait ten years. Knocking someone because they discovered this forum in 2009 instead of 1999 is no different then some old coot sitting on the front porch compla...

Cort Strasser. What do think of this guy? 3280 2
Started by skullspliter
Like what the title says what do you all think of this guy For the folks who don't know he was a villain , that showed up in three of the books. Now he was one of my favorite bad guys, hard guy to kill besides his sick habits. I wished he would of showed up in more of the books. But like so many bad guy in the past they were there for a few books and gone. And i think unlike a lot of the bad guy in the series he had a plan, was building empires in the deathland until you guessed it the gang sh...

What personality type does it take to be a pulp fiction author? 3020 10
Started by EZ-E
Some people have it and some just don't. Personally, I don't have the creativity and imagination to write fiction.
I have more of a scientific slant since I was a nuclear propulsion electrician in the Navy and am currently an x-ray, cat scan and MRI tech.
Although I wrote beaucoup essays in college and will occasionally be inspired with wit, I just don't have the ability to write an intriguing tale.
So, what is it exactly Left vs. right sided brain users Art vs science Experience an...

I've been lurking this site for awhile now and I like the new set up and some of the discussions that have been going on so I thought I would say hello.I have been a reader and avid collector of the Mack Bolan books and got hooked on Outlanders a few years ago. While collecting books for these series I aquired a DL title every now and then. I read 2 of them that were completly horrible in my opinion. One of them was 'Strontium Swamp' which I couldn't even finish. After reading the review sec...

Who/What/Where would the main characters be if born in our real today world? 3289 4

Where would they be right now If the companions lived in our real today world...and were true life people..what would they be doing Just a fun topic to discuss. I think we can count out Mildred and Doc because they had lives before they got thrown in DL..but what would Ryan, Krysty, J.B. and Jack be doing if they were born today in our world I had a few thoughts.. Krysty would be a healer/save the earth/Psychic or something. A true flower child...living out of a VW bus and spreading the 'cle...

Introduction to New Character(s) 2450 3

Pretty sure I'm not the only one who thinks that it's time to add a new member to the group!!! Before anyone says it, I'll touch on it - yes, it would be nice to get Dean back in the fold, but I really don't think it HAS to happen say in the next book, or anytime in the near future....I know in previous posts, some people have been upset that Dean hasn't even been mentioned, but think about it - you think anyone in the group, aside from maybe Kristy, wants to continually remind Ryan that Dean is...

I have read the serious from the beginning and have got to know the group very well and I can say that there is some errors in the writing for example.1. Ryan and J.B would not let wheel guns be used as the primary weapon of 3 members of the group.2. A black powder weapon come on...3. Mildreds pleats make to much noise when triple red and sneaking and peeking.there are others but you get the drift

One thing I really want to see... 3719 9
Started by Canadian Nomad
So, Deathlands has been around for quite awhile now, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who's dying to see some sort of illustrated book. The one thing that I love about this series is the graphic detail, which makes it very easy to become engrossed while reading. It's about time - actually, if you ask me, it's LONG OVERDUE - that someone made an illustrated book. Hell, you could call it the Deathlands Encyclopedia A-Z, and cover all the significant characters over the series - from friends/all...

Now that I don't work for GE anymore, though I still have one completed DL in the production pipeline, I feel free to do the unexpected and post on this site, which I have followed (lurked) for seven or eight years.
Got to say, I never would have taken this step if it hadn't been for Ron Miles.&160; He truly understands the predicaments of the DL writers post-LJ--and now the predicaments of the authors of OL since that series is no longer a one-man op.
At any rate, here I am. If you have ques...

...actually read the entire series in order besides me I think that initially it is the best way to proceed as Ron mentioned in another post. However, in the latter books, it doesn't seem to be as relevant since they are stories complete to themselves. I think the exception to this would be the 36th book which was set in Trader's heyday.

Just wondering if there is any talk in the near future of bringing the Deathlands series to the Audiobook realm of I Tunes.. I for one would probably spend waaay to much on those and at least could temporaily fill in the gaps of missing books while I hunted for them around the web and bookstores.

My First Post--Howdy! 3087 4

Howdy, boardsters! I'm Victor and this is my first post on this forum.
I am a big Deathlands fan. The first book that I got a hold of a couple of years ago was the second book. I didn't have anything to read and found this book among some paperbacks of my mom's. After that book, I was hooked. After that, I went on ebay to buy the books that I didn't have. My first attempt was from a Canadian seller who offered nearly the complete set of DL books for just under $400 including postage. He had 1...

What will happen with six DL titles a year? 12498 46
Started by AP
One thing is for sure: At least some of the work will fall to an author who is not only professionally seasoned and thoroughly competent, but who understands the DL series: Victor Milan. His DL VENGEANCE TRAIL is one of the few legitimate post-LJ classics. More DLs from Mr. Milan is a very good thing for the series' readers.
